Parking meters in downtown Rochester are color-coded according to the amount of time you can park before moving your vehicle: yellow, 30 minutes; gray, 90 minutes; blue, 3 hours; green, 10 hours.
Meters are enforced from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for major holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Parking meters are not enforced after 5 p.m. on weekdays, Saturdays or Sundays. Fees vary depending on the color code of the meter. Parking in city ramps is free on weekdays when you enter after 5 p.m. and leave before 1:30 a.m., and on weekends when you enter after 9 a.m. and leave before 1:30 a.m. Exceptions apply to ramps and lots during major
Three parking lots near the downtown area are controlled by large yellow or red honor-pay boxes. Select an empty parking spot, park, note the stall number and put the parking fee in the corresponding slot in the pay box before you leave the lot.
