Mayo Clinic, the major employer in Rochester, provides care for more than 400,000 patients each year. Patients come from all over the U.S. and more than 150 countries. 

High Tech
IBM employs 5,000 people at its major development and manufacturing facility in Rochester. IBM's drive for excellence was rewarded in 1990 when IBM Rochester received the prestigious Malcom Baldridge Award. 

Agriculture
Agriculture and agribusiness account for one-third of the jobs in Olmsted County and account for a large percentage of regional business. Leading agriculture based companies such as Seneca Foods, AMPI, Marigold Foods, and Pace Dairy operate here.
